The Making of an Icon

Hudson’s Bay’s most enduring symbol is The Point Blanket. To mark the 350th year I concepted videos that would show the many steps that go into creating each blanket at AW Hainsworth Mill in Yorkshire, England. I worked closely with Evaan Kheraj to create a 90-second video that showed not only the many processes, but the many people that watch over its journey until it comes home to Canada.

The 90-second video is one that Hudson’s Bay will use for years to come to celebrate the enduring quality of the Point Blanket. Additionally, we created shorter videos for social media, did Q+As with key Hainsworth staff, and recorded birthday messages.

Celebrate 350

As a member of Hudson’s Bay’s 350 celebration task force, I ensured that creative aligned with the goals the company had for the celebrations, as well as partnering with the agencies organizing the events and partnerships. While the pandemic ultimately limited the May 2 anniversary and surrounding events, we focused on the reissued Point Blankets and product collaborations, all of which could be enjoyed by customers at home.
